The world is deep in debt and going deeper all the time trying to buy what God offers for free: acceptance, love, approval, worth, value, peace, joy, fulfillment! The bigger house won’t make you feel complete; you will just have more square footage to clean. The newer model car won’t do it; you will just have bigger payments. The promotion at work is not the answer; you will just have more responsibility and probably be required to work longer hours.
Father, I thank You that I don’t have to carry guilt and shame around with me as I go through my life.
The love of God is what heals our wounded souls. It’s what gives us confidence. It’s what gives us courage. Knowing that we are loved perfectly by a perfect, powerful God changes us like nothing else.
We need to start seeing ourselves the way God sees us, because it’s such a healing thing to begin to like yourself instead of being against yourself.
