I like to employ the power of no. We all want to say yes, because with yes comes so much opportunity, but with the power of no comes focus and engagement.

A very common thing these days is people show up and they ask us in the band to sign with a Sharpie right on their skin and they go get it tattooed the next day. Then they’ll show up at another show and they’ll have their tattoo.

I’m constantly failing, but not upset about it. I think there’s a great deal to learn from that.
My coolest job was when I was 12 and I was a dishwasher at the Three Pigs Bar-B-Que for $2.50 an hour. All the fleabags and stoners worked there, so that’s where I wanted to be.
I could be your worst enemy. But i would rather have friends then enemies, and i go to great length to make that the case. There’s much more reward in having friends.
