If an Elder shall give us a lecture upon astronomy, chemistry, or geology, our religion embraces it all. Faith is no more a part of it than any other true principle of philosophy.
Let any people enjoy peace and quiet, unmolested, undisturbed, never be persecuted for their religion, and they are very likely to neglect their duty, to become cold and indifferent, and lose their faith.
I am not a stereotyped Latter-day Saint and do not believe in the doctrine... Away with stereotyped ‘Mormons’!
