The path of service is but a thorn-infested trail in the woods – a trail that is not yet made a trail, but simply lies indistinguishable from the rest of the jungle. And the work of a torch-bearer of progress is to make the trail appear and soften the thorns by crushing them with their own footsteps, while bearing an infinite amount of agony.
Prayers bring comfort, not change. Change requires tangible human efforts.
Agony is a fundamental companion in progress.
To know whether one is civilized, one must ask three questions. Is one accountable? Is one reasonable? Is one indivisible?

One of these individuals, whose apparently divine subjective experience of transcendence led to the birth of one of the relatively modern religions of planet earth, was a man named Nanak. Throughout the evolution of mankind our very much primordial ancestors had one thing in common, it was ignorance. This ignorance gave birth to fear. Fear of the unknown became a quintessential element of their daily survival. To ace the intensity of the fear, rituals of worship arose.
When the act of service and the force of life merge into one whole organic furnace of potential – greatness, glory and progress automatically follow.
Speaking up for rights and equality doesn’t require any specific sexuality or gender, all it requires is that you are human.
If attempting to make the world a civilized one, makes you a bad woman in the eyes of the dumb patriarchal society, then, by all means, be it.
Unlike most other world religions, Buddhism has never been too rigid in its structure.
Sit still no more, sleep sound no more, eat calmly no more, for the innocent are crying, and you are the only hope they’ve got.
The most important and uniquely glorious element of Buddha’s character was that, he did not compel his pupils to be slaves either to his teachings or to himself, but like a conscientious human, demanded from his followers to accept his words not merely out of regard for him but after subjecting them to a thorough examination. And this is where Buddha stands out from the crowd of self-proclaimed prophets.
To have great progress, one must sacrifice small pleasures.
Technology will destroy this planet mentally, if responsible individuals do not come forward to advocate for responsible use of technology.
Differences are healthy, there lies the scope for inquiry, and in inquiry lies the scope for learning. Differences turn unhealthy only when we make them the cause for hatred.
Truth is indestructible, virtue is indestructible, purity is indestructible.
Drawing a cross on your forehead won’t get you into heaven, for real heaven can only manifest around us on earth, if we, the individual humans, start acting as civilized creatures of conscience and character.
Respect yourself and in time the whole world will respect you.
