If you’re not ministering and using your gifts in the church, then something God wants done is being ignored.
She said, “Right now, while we have this time, I’m not going to do any of that other stuff. I’m going to seize this moment and simply enjoy being with Jesus while I can.” Mary made a deliberate choice. She wasn’t being lazy and using company as an excuse to get out of helping her sister with chores. She was choosing to focus on what mattered the most.
Again, so many people think that they wouldn’t be going through their struggles if God were really with them. But that’s simply not the case. Having Jesus in the stern beside you doesn’t mean the storm won’t rock your boat. It just means the storm won’t sink you.
When something small loudly demands all our attention, its noise often drowns out the whisper of what’s enormously important.
While it’s easy to believe the worst, God wants you to believe the best. He never promises a trouble-free life of leisure, but he does promise never to leave you and always to love you.
Will you have the courage to obey the voice of God?
Rather, we are who God says we are: his children. We are forgivable. We are changeable. We are capable. We are moldable. And we are bound by the limitless love of God.

Let your fears drive you to God. The fear of God is the only cure for the fear of people.
Our fears matter. Because ultimately, our fears show how we’re relying on our own efforts and not trusting in our Savior. The truth is we – you and I and everyone – are always inadequate. We’re never enough. We’re always weak.
I will do today what I can do to enable me to do tomorrow what I can’t do today.
When you cry out to God for forgiveness, he doesn’t remember your sins. They are gone. Forgiven. Washed away. And forgotten. In the same way that the coal removed Isaiah’s guilt and sin, the blood of Jesus takes away ours.
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. – psalm 139:23–24.
Rather than worrying about work, schedules, and deadlines, I felt at peace with God. He was in control. The world at large would not crumble because I turned off my iPhone. This is how it’s supposed to be. For the first time in who knows how long, I felt like myself. Fully alive. Fully present. And fully aware of God’s goodness.
