On Sundays when I speak, I hopefully give somebody something that they can use the next day at work or at home.
I write all my sermons.
If Jesus were here today, he wouldn’t be riding around on a donkey. He’d be taking a plane, he’d be using the media.
No matter what you’ve gone through in the past, no matter how many setbacks you’ve suffered or who or what has tried to thwart your progress, today is a new day, and God wants to do a new thing in your life.
I say, don’t try to fight your own battles because God will do it.
You know, there is always times where you feel discouraged and things coming against you, but I don’t know if I ever wanted to throw in the towel.
I think we use God’s word. I think the principles that you hear Dr. Phil and some of those others talk about many times are right out of the Bible.
God’s used me to help turn their life around or give them hope, you know? It’s very rewarding.
I’m not leading them to some false God or something like that.
We need to show mercy. I mean, because as much mercy as you show people, that’s the mercy you’re going to be receiving.
That’s it. I’m going to start making the right choices.
The main message of it is to not get stagnant and that God wants us to continue to grow and become a better person.
My core message is that God has got a good plan for your lives, and we must trust Him, and let go of the past. That’s my main message.
I believe God will fight my battles for me.
You can become all God created you to be even if you’ve had difficulties, even if you weren’t born into a good, loving family, God still has a plan for your life.
We’re going to bring our core message of hope and how God is a good God who’s on our side.
That’s my thing – keep filled with faith. Keep doing what you can do and I believe God will do what you can’t do.
God works where there’s an attitude of faith. I believe faith is all about hope.
You have to turn it around and say God still has a great plan for my life. I may not understand things that happen, but faith is all about trusting when you don’t understand it.
When you get up and say, “God, I want to thank you for being alive, I’ve got family, I’ve got my health,” you’re going to draw in more of the good things from God.
