Going all in and all out for the All in All is both a death sentence and a life sentence. Your sinful nature, along with its selfish desires, is nailed to the cross. Then, and only then, does your true personality, your true potential, and your true purpose come alive. After all, God cannot resurrect what has not died. And that’s why so many people are half alive. They haven’t died to self yet.
Anybody can say ‘I do’ at the altar; the hard part is saying ‘I do’ every day thereafter. Anybody can set a life goal; the hard part is going after it every day. Anybody can say no to any addiction for a day, but you have to say it day after day after day.
Now here is what you need to understand: If you don’t turn your adversity into a ministry, then your pain remains your pain. But if you allow God to translate your adversity into a ministry, then your pain becomes someone else’s gain.
We start dying the day we stop dreaming. And ironically, we start living the day we discover a dream worth dying for.
Don’t give up on your dream. If you do, you aren’t just giving up on its present-tense reality. You’re giving up on its future-tense potential. Were.
What if you knew you wouldn’t fail – what would you do? What if time and money weren’t an object – what God-sized goal would you go after? If you’re looking for an excuse, you’ll always find one. The same is true of opportunity.
What if you quit making excuses, quit playing it safe, and quit hedging your bets?
Don’t seek miracles. Follow Jesus. And if you follow Jesus long enough and far enough, you’ll eventually find yourself in the middle of some miracles.
We don’t see the world as it is; we see the world as we are... if someone has a critical eye, they will always find something to be critical about. And if they have a grateful eye, they will find something to celebrate even in the worst of circumstances... Having a “good eye” in life changes how you see yourself and everything around you... your focus determines your reality.
Prayer must be in alignment with the will of God or it’s null and void... It it’s not God’s will, you’re not going to get whatever you ask for. God loves you far too much to spoil you in that way. But if it is God’s will, God will make a way.
At some point in our lives, we all need someone who believes in us more than we believe in ourselves.
Only God can make the appointment, but only you can keep the appointment.
When everything is said and done, God isn’t going to say, “Well said,” “Well thought,” or “Well planned.” There is one measuring stick: “Well done, good and faithful servant!”5.
God is in the business of strategically positioning us in the right place at the right time.
The cure for the fear of failure isn’t success. The cure for the fear of failure is failure in small enough doses that we build up an immunity to it.
When you are tempted to compromise your integrity, remember than an opportunity isn’t an opportunity if you have to compromise your integrity.
When we violate our conscience by compromising our integrity, we put our reputation at risk. We also become our own advocate because we step outside the boundaries of God’s good, pleasing, and perfect will. But when we obey God, we come under the umbrella of His protective authority. He is our Advocate. And it’s His reputation that is at stake. If we don’t give the Enemy a foothold, God won’t let him touch a hair on our head.
If you want to break the sin habit, you’d better establish a prayer habit.
Long before God laid the foundation of the earth, He anticipated and provided for everything we’d ever need. You just need to give Him an opportunity to prove Himself faithful.
You may be the only Bible some people ever read. So the question is: Are you a good translation?
