I looked at my life and for the first time felt like I could hold it all. That I didn’t need to let go of anything in order to be whole. That even those things I’d been clinging to had a place in my freedom. That every single thing played its role.
I’m a sucker for sweetness. Intelligence, creativity and a sense of humor mean little to me if a person isn’t also kind.
Rather than seek happiness living my life to please the will of others, I will seek happiness where I know it can be found – living my life to please the will of my heart.

When we open ourselves up to feeling, we can’t only open ourselves up to feeling certain things. The same is true when we shut ourselves down. The walls that guard against sadness also guard against happiness.

We are all many things. Sometimes people get used to us being the one thing they most expect from us, and they don’t know how to handle the other many things we are and have to offer. This is not our limitation to own. Let’s be whatever many things our heart calls us to be. There’s not a lot of consistency in freedom, aside from fluid movement among the many things we are. And that’s a mighty beautiful thing.
Maybe you’re holding on too tight, and the magic comes in letting go.
It is love, has been love, will always be love that makes the biggest difference in our world.
It was meant to be or it wouldn’t have happened.
We have to figure out a kinder way to connect with each other, and practice at it every day. Make it a think we love to do. One of our favorite things, in fact. Until it becomes our only way of being.
With each day that passes, it becomes more and more clear that the most true way to make it through this life is with the deepest possible commitment to compassion and a relentless dedication to love.
