You will never enjoy life if you do not enjoy yourself.
God’s love for me is perfect because it’s based on Him, not on me. So, even when I failed, He kept loving me.
Here’s one of my favorite statements: We are never going to enjoy stability, we are never going to enjoy spiritual maturity until we learn how to do what’s right when it feels wrong, and every time you do what’s right by a decision of your will using discipline and self control to go beyond how you feel, the more painful it is in your flesh, the more you’re growing spiritually at that particular moment.
I believe confidence is all about being positive concerning what you can do – and not worrying over what you can’t do. A confident person is open to learning, because she knows that her confidence allows her to walk through life’s doorways, eager to discover what waits on the other side. She knows that every new unknown is a chance to learn more about herself and unleash her abilities.
Acts 10:38 says, “See how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth who went about doing good.” He just got up every day and did good. Everywhere he went, even though he had a purpose and he was headed somewhere, he let himself be interrupted by the needs of people. So often we study the steps of Jesus. Maybe we need to study the stops of Jesus. The things that he stopped for, the things that interrupted his plan, where he would alter his plan and help somebody here and there.
If you are a believer married to an unbeliever I want to tell you that the greatest witness that you can be to them is to try to be the same all the time. Don’t let the way they act control you. Dave didn’t let my actions control him. He stayed happy, and that just made me madder, because unhappy people just want to make other people unhappy, but it finally broke through to me that he’s got a stability and a joy and a peace that I did not have.
Discouragement destroys hope, so naturally the devil always tries to discourage us. Without hope we give up, which is what the devil wants us to do. The Bible repeatedly tells us not to be discouraged or dismayed. God knows that we will not come through to victory if we get discouraged, so He always encourages us as we start out on a project by saying to us, “Don’t get discouraged.” God wants us to be encouraged, not discouraged.
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. PROVERBS 23:7.
As children of God, one of the privileges we have is believing the impossible.
The mind is the battlefield.
The more we focus on who we are in Christ, the less it matters who we were in the past, or even what happened to us.
Lord, I need to see You and hear Your voice over and above the storms in my life. Help me to break free of anything that is holding me back from doing.
Calm down, stop trying to figure out the answers, and turn your focus to God.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you. Isaiah 43:2.
As we look then at these two powerful tools of the enemy, we see that doubt causes a person to waver between two opinions, whereas unbelief leads to disobedience. I.
It is unwise to refuse to face reality; however if our reality is negative we can still have a positive attitude toward it.
Hannah Whitehall Smith, the author of The Christian’s Secret of a Happy Life, said, “God disciplines the soul by inward exercises and outward providences.” What she means is that God will put into our hearts the right thing to do in every situation, but if we choose not to do it, then He will allow our circumstances to become our teacher.
Don’t receive condemnation when you have setbacks or bad days. Just get back up, dust yourself off, and start again.
If you desire victory over your problems, if you truly want to live the resurrection life, you must have backbone and not just wishbone! You must be active – not passive. Right action begins with right thinking. Don’t be passive in your mind. Start today choosing right thoughts.
Staying angry at someone who has hurt you is like taking poison hoping that your enemy will die.
