My father was a negative person. He actually taught me to be negative, if that makes any sense. I remember him saying: ‘You know there’s no point in expecting anything good to happen because it won’t.’ I grew up in such a negative atmosphere.
Some people have a hard time getting rid of stuff. If that’s you, pray for God to give you the courage to get rid of things you don’t really need or things He wants you to give away. This will help keep your surroundings organized and clutter-free.
People who pity themselves think, ‘Why would I try to do anything? I’ll just fail.’
No matter what’s going on in our lives, the victory is in refusing to quit.
I encourage you to deliberately look for something to smile or laugh about every day, and be sure to share a smile or a laugh with someone else and brighten their day too!
We are not a failure just because we fail at something. Nobody is a failure unless they quit trying!
I’ve discovered that when we take time to renew our minds with God’s Word, we learn how to think like God thinks, say what God says, and act like He wants us to act.
If someone you know makes a bad decision or uses bad judgment, it doesn’t mean you have to allow that to alter your attitude. Why should you allow anyone else’s bad decisions to send you into a tailspin of misery?
It’s true my father abused me and didn’t love and protect me the way he should have, and at times it seemed no one would ever help me and it would never end. But God always had a plan for my life, and He has redeemed me.
I can’t do anything about my past, but I can do a lot to cooperate with my destiny. I am re-created in Christ Jesus, born anew, that I might do the good works that he laid out for me and live the good life.
God is not asking us to not have anything or even to give away every single thing that we have. He is asking us to share with people who have less than us, which I do all the time.
If I believe the Bible, then I don’t believe that a gay lifestyle or a homosexual lifestyle is the right way to choose to live. I believe that there’s something so much better.
When I read the Bible, I see that we should have victory in our life and be overcomers, and I can’t even control my temper. I’m impatient. I’m hard to get along with. I’m selfish and self-centered, and I don’t seem to have any control over it.
After years of abuse, it was difficult for me to understand God’s love. It took me years to truly understand it.
One day, the idea that God loved me dropped from my head into my heart.
Everybody wants to be loved. God already loves you; all you have to do is believe and accept it.
Christianity is about the heart, and the Bible says that we cannot get to heaven on our own good works. No matter how good we are, we cannot be good enough, because God is perfect, and we’re always going to be less than perfect.
God’s perfect, unconditional love and faithfulness are what brought me through all of the healing, restoration and breakthroughs I desperately needed so I could become what He created me to be!
My teachings are my life.
The Bible has the answers to our everyday life. Many times people don’t realize how practical it is.
