We don't ask you to believe in our ability to bring change, rather, we ask you to believe in yours.
One voice can change a room, and if one voice can change a room, then it can change a city, and if it can change a city, it can change a state, and if it can change a state, it can change a nation, and if it can change a nation, it can change the world. Your voice can change the world.
We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there “is” such a thing as being too late. This is no time for apathy or complacency. This is a time for vigorous and positive action.
Respond; don’t react. Listen; don’t talk. Think; don’t assume.
Together we are better.
A different world cannot be built by indifferent people.
In the past a leader was a boss. Today’s leaders must be partners with their people. They no longer can lead solely based on positional power.
Activism is my rent for living on the planet.
A change is brought about because ordinary people do extraordinary things.
Don’t just get involved. Fight for your seat at the table. Better yet, fight for a seat at the head of the table.
The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something.
Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves.
Make the other person feel important – and do it sincerely.
Become genuinely interested in other people.
No one likes to feel that he or she is being sold some-thing or told to do a thing. We much prefer to feel that we are buying of our own accord or acting on our own ideas. We like to be consulted about our wishes, our wants, our thoughts.
We don’t have to engage in grand, heroic actions to participate in the process of change. Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world.
Give whatever you are doing and whoever you are with the gift of your attention.
Be a student, not a follower. Take interest in what someone says, then debate it, ponder it, and consider it from all angles.
