Things are as they are. Looking out into the universe at night, we make no comparisons between right and wrong stars, nor between well and badly arranged constellations.
Constant kindness can accomplish much. As the sun makes ice melt, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust, and hostility to evaporate.
Learning to stand in somebody else’s shoes, to see through their eyes, that’s how peace begins. And it’s up to you to make that happen. Empathy is a quality of character that can change the world.
Remember your humanity, and forget the rest.
God is unchanging in His love. He loves you. He has a plan for your life. Don’t let the newspaper headlines frighten you. God is still sovereign; He’s still on the throne.
Set peace of mind as your highest goal, and organize your life around it.

If you want real control, drop the illusion of control; let life have you. It does anyway. You’re just telling yourself the story of how it doesn’t.
We cannot change anything until we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses.
Live one day at a time. Keep your attention in present time. Have no expectations. Make no judgements. And give up the need to know why things happen as they do. Give it up!
If you look at the world, you’ll be distressed. If you look within, you’ll be depressed. If you look at God you’ll be at rest.

If every 8 year old in the world is taught meditation, we will eliminate violence from the world within one generation.

If there is a solution to a problem, there is no need to worry. And if there is no solution, there is no need to worry.
If one assumes a humble attitude, one’s own good qualities will increase. Whereas if one is proud, one will become jealous of others, one will look down on others, and due to that there will be unhappiness in society.
If you can do something about a situation, why worry? And if you can’t do something about a situation, why worry?
With genuine love and compassion, another person’s appearance or behavior has no effect on your attitude.
According to Buddhist psychology most of our troubles stem from attachment to things that we mistakenly see as permanent.
Happiness does not come about only due to external circumstances; it mainly derives from inner attitudes.
