When hope is gone, time is punishment.
Man alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour. And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralysing fear that no other creature endures. A fear of time running out.
There is no growth without change, no change without fear or loss and no loss without pain.
Nothing gold can stay.
Seize the day. Because, believe it or not, each and every one of us in this room is one day going to stop breathing, turn cold, and die.
He who was living is now dead We who were living are now dying With a little patience.
This is the way the world ends, not with a bang, but a whimper.
Fear is stronger than love, remember that. Fear is stronger than love, all that love I gave didn’t mean nothing when it came to fear.
Why am I dying to live if I’m just living to die.
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed.
But there was no need to be ashamed of tears, for tears bore witness that a man had the greatest of courage, the courage to suffer.
But you people do not understand me, and I am afraid you never will.
If you are silent about your pain, they’ll kill you and say you enjoyed it.
I had nothing to offer anybody except my own confusion.
Life for me has not been a crystal stair.
You want to live-but do you know how to live? You are scared of dying-and, tell me, is the kind of life you lead really any different from being dead?
Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this too, was a gift.
It’s so much darker when a light goes out than it would have been if it had never shone.
The things we love destroy us every time, lad. Remember that.
That though the radiance which was once so bright be now forever taken from my sight. Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, glory in the flower. We will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind.
