As we work to create light for others, we naturally light our own way.
Im happy to volunteer for the American Red Cross Celebrity Cabinet. The Red Cross is an organization that responds to those in need and it is an honor to help them with the lifesaving role they play everyday in communities nationwide.
Each one of us can make a difference. Together we make change.
Exercise your purchasing power as a consumer, volunteer and bring joy to those in need, and share your experiences, tell your stories, and inspire others along the way.
Here’s to all volunteers, those dedicated people who believe in all work and no pay.
There are many ways of seeing the world. You can hang upside down from a meteor, volunteer to be the fourth stage of a three-stage rocket, or simply get in a balloon and keep going. But if it’s sheer, unadulterated discomfort you’re looking for, just stay on land.
One of the gratuities about being a director is that you can volunteer yourself out of difficult details.
I’ve seen far too many Christians who are more than willing to travel halfway around the world to volunteer for a week in an orphanage, but who cannot bring themselves to take the personal risk of sharing Jesus with the co-worker who sits day after day in the cubicle right next to them.
Games are unnecessary obstacles we volunteer to tackle.
We don’t recruit volunteers; we release leaders. Volunteers do good things but leaders change the world.
No one can do everything, but everyone can do something, and together we can change the world.
We must use our lives to make the world a better place to live, not just to acquire things. That is what we are put on the earth for.
There are three ways of trying to win the young. There is persuasion, there is compulsion, and there is attraction. You can preach at them: that is a hook without a worm. You can say, You must volunteer, and that is of the devil. You can tell them, You are needed. That appeal hardly ever fails.
I’m going to help the committee regardless of any position I have. I will volunteer to be a summer intern.
There are no victims, only volunteers.
It wasn’t the reward that mattered or the recognition you might harvest. It was your depth of commitment, your quality of service, the product of your devotion – these were the things that counted in life. When you gave purely, the honor in giving, and that was honor enough.
Never underestimate your ability to make someone else’s life better – even if you never know it.
It is true that many of the Sea Shepherd crewmembers are inexperienced, but the fact is that these volunteers bring a passion to the project that cannot be found in a hired crew.
Love all, serve all, feed all.
We should be shining lamps, giving light to all around us.
