Competition is overrated. In practice it is quite destructive and should be avoided wherever possible. Much better than fighting for scraps in existing markets is to create and own new ones.
There are only two kinds of businesses in this world: Businesses in crazy competition, and businesses that are one of a kind.

Success isn’t owned – it’s leased. And rent is due every day. Every single day, someone’s coming for your job. Someone’s coming for your greatness. If you’re the greatest, someone wants to be the greatest, and so if you’re not constantly improving your game, somebody else is.
Greatness is earned, not given.
Cooperation is always more powerful than competition.
The culture precedes positive results. It doesn’t get tacked on as an afterthought on your way to the victory stand. Champions behave like champions before they’re champions: they have a winning standard of performance before they are winners.
Winners see the gain; losers see the pain.
If you can be the best, then why not try to be the best?
There is always someone out there working harder than you, and you may be standing next to him or her in your next competition.
In training, you listen to your body. In competition, you tell your body to shut up.
